The deep cleaning checklist professionals actually use
A deep clean is not a longer regular clean. It is a different scope. The difference is in the surfaces you do not touch weekly: inside the oven, behind the fridge, the extractor filter, grout lines, skirtings, door frames, cornices and light fittings.
Start high and work down. Cornices, light fittings and the tops of cupboards drop dust onto everything below them, so cleaning floors first guarantees rework. Professionals always finish with floors.
In the kitchen, pull the appliances out. The gap behind a fridge and under a stove holds more grease and crumbs than the visible floor combined. Degrease the extractor filter in hot water while you work on the oven.
In bathrooms, treat grout and silicone separately from tiles. A tile surface can look clean while the grout carries mould. Apply the treatment, let it dwell, then scrub — dwell time does most of the work.
Finish with windows, tracks and skirtings. These are the details that make a room read as genuinely deep cleaned rather than tidied.
